RAT: Hours 15 and 16

I'm calling it quits.  My eyes are failing me, which is a new thing recently...I'm squinting because they are tired.  I guess that's what happens in your forties.  Tomorrow is my birthday and I'll be 41, so maybe it's time to update the prescription on my glasses!

What I've eaten/drunk:  Coffee; two bacon, egg, and cheese Toaster Scrambles; some honeydew melon; water; four leftover Buffalo Chicken Biscuit Sliders for lunch; more water; the BEST cheese in the world (found at Aldi's, of all places) - Pepperoni Marinara mozzarella; sour ball candies from Cracker Barrel; yet more water; Jimmy John's for dinner; wate; Cherry Coke for the caffeine factor; Jelly Belly jellybeans; more water; some mozzarella cheese; Cheez-Its; gum; more Jelly Belly jellybeans (I think I was eating to keep myself awake!)

This has been a really productive Read-a-Thon for me.  I haven't been reading as much lately as I usually do, so it was nice to have a day with nothing else to worry about, so I could get caught up on some of my magazines.  I'm going to keep plugging along with them, so I can soon start on our next book club read, Do Not Become Alarmed.  I hope you all have had a successful Read-a-Thon, too, whatever that means to you.  See you in October!

Read-a-thon Radness! End of Hour Two Update

Yes, I'm doing Dewey's Read-a-Thon once again.  I've only missed one or two since it started, back in October, 2007.  I did get a late start this morning, beginning at 9, instead of 8, but I'll make it up tomorrow morning.  Here's the opening survey:

1)  What fine part of the world are you reading from today?  As always, sunny south Florida!

2)  Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to today?  I'm catching up on magazine reading (I'm like two or three months behind on my magazines), so if I make it to a book, that's the one!

3)  Which snack are you most looking forward to?  I have some Jelly Belly jellybeans...

4)  Tell us a little something about yourself.  I am a reluctant reader these days...life is so busy.  But the book club we started locally six months ago is still rolling along and I am loving it!!!

5)  If you participated in the last Read-a-Thon, what is something you'll do differently today?  I DID participate in the last RAT, and I will try to read more hours today.  I didn't do so well last time...

Back to the books (er, magazines)!!!  Happy reading, everyone!
