I'm on a roll, so I'm going back to the magazines.  The dinner break will be upon us soon and I want to get as much done before then as I can!

RAT: End of Hour 6

Still finding myself distracted...but I read more this time than last update.  Making lunch was unavoidable, but some of the other stuff was not, lol.

Read-a-thon Radness! End of Hour Two Update

Yes, I'm doing Dewey's Read-a-Thon once again.  I've only missed one or two since it started, back in October, 2007.  I did get a late start this morning, beginning at 9, instead of 8, but I'll make it up tomorrow morning.  Here's the opening survey:

1)  What fine part of the world are you reading from today?  As always, sunny south Florida!

2)  Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to today?  I'm catching up on magazine reading (I'm like two or three months behind on my magazines), so if I make it to a book, that's the one!

3)  Which snack are you most looking forward to?  I have some Jelly Belly jellybeans...

4)  Tell us a little something about yourself.  I am a reluctant reader these days...life is so busy.  But the book club we started locally six months ago is still rolling along and I am loving it!!!

5)  If you participated in the last Read-a-Thon, what is something you'll do differently today?  I DID participate in the last RAT, and I will try to read more hours today.  I didn't do so well last time...

Back to the books (er, magazines)!!!  Happy reading, everyone!

RAT: Hour Fourteen

Getting sleeeeeppyyyy...  I was distracted THIS time around by TV and I took a break to play a game on my Kindle, too.  I just needed to take a break from reading.  I'll probably get another hour or so in, but, honestly, I'm kind of feeling like going to bed.

Title of book(s) read since last update:  Chromosome 6 by Robin Cook.
Number of books read since you started:  part of two books; one magazine.
Pages read since last update:  20

Running total of time spent reading since you started:  720 minutes
Mini-challenges completed:  Opening meme; Traveler's Log; Readathon Memories; Thrills and Chills;
Other participants you’ve visited:  None, yet.
What I've eaten/drunk:  Coffee; two Eggos with margarine; water with lime; half a leftover meatball sub; the vaguely racist-sounding "Oriental" flavored ramen noodles; High Road Aztec Chocolate ice cream - do yourself a favor and get some of this stuff; more water; Crab Rangoon; egg drop soup; an egg roll; vegetable fried rice; cashew chicken; sweet and sour chicken.

Going to try to keep plugging along.  My book is good, but my eyes are droopy.

RAT: Wrapping Up Hour Twelve - Halfway Through!

I made good progress over the last two hours.  Hubby has abandoned the Read-a-Thon and now has the living room TV on, so I may not make as much progress in the next two hours.  The good news is that I finished my magazine, and I am now on to a medical thriller.  This book is the third in the series and, from past experience, should be a fast, engrossing read!

The squirrels are remaining quiet, perhaps they have gone to bed.  I'm getting a little sleepy, so I might make some coffee to try to stay awake.  I will probably take a break around 9:00 to watch a little TV with Hubby and give my eyes a break.  Happy reading!
