Yesterday, I spent $130 at the online book retailer who-shall-not-be-named. Only $30 of that was non-book-related. I plan to go out and spend more today on big box bookstore gift cards. That way, some of the more finicky folks will have a chance to choose for themselves.
This holiday season, the publishing industry needs your support. And your family DEFINITELY needs new books. And so do you. Buy books! They make great gifts. Or doorstops, if your family doesn't read.
DO IT!

Mailbox Monday
Short post today...I'm WIPED. Spent literally all day in court, with no break for lunch. Well, we had a break, but since people bombarded me with issues as soon as I walked in the door of the office, I didn't have time to eat. Sigh.ANYWAY...this week, I received The Good Earth from a fellow BookMoocher. and I received Angela Carter's Shaking a Leg from a seller at Amazon. I forget where I heard about Angela Carter or this book, but it sounded interesting. It's a compilation of her writings on all topics, but mostly non-fiction. I'm trying to inject a little non-fiction reading into my schedule every once in a while, to balance out all the fiction I tend to gorge on.
Started Little Altars Everywhere by Rebecca Wells last night. So far, it's pretty good.

More New Books
As if we weren't having money trouble, I ordered a bunch of books from Amazon last week. Those, along with a Mooched book, arrived today. So I now have the complete Earth's Children series, by Jean Auel. And I also now have the complete Avalon series by Marion Zimmer Bradley. I hope I like these. I fully expect to be reciprocally Mooching them in the future, though. I have a bad habit of acquiring books I don't intend to keep.
